Description:
Zippity is a handsome 2-3 year old who is very timid at first, but once he warms up to you, he will steal your heart with his sweet kisses and sparkly personality! We suspect he was treated very harshly in the past so his initial shyness is understandable. His rescuers are pretty sure he was dumped after not being sold at a local monthly flea market. He was found running frantically from house to house after the market had ended.

Zippity has come a long way in a short period of time. He has adjusted nicely to the sights and sounds of a normal household. He is calm in the house and loves to be near his foster family. Even though he is more fearful of men than women, he has warmed up to his foster dad and the teenage boys in the home. He will even go up to them for petting, to offer kisses, and ask to get up into our laps. He enjoys getting on the couch to snuggle, but he is also happy on a dog bed. He enjoys chew toys and will pull them out of the toy box and happily trot around with them briefly before settling down to chew them.

Zippity gets along well with the other dogs in his foster home and really enjoys games of chase with them in the yard, but I don’t think another dog in his forever home is a must. As long as he has an interesting yard, he entertains himself very well. He loves to play outside to look for lizards & birds. One of his favorite things is his tennis ball! He absolutely loves running with it all around the yard.

Zippity jumped up on our fences when we first brought him home, but now that he has adjusted to his new environment, he is doing fine with them. He will need a 6 ft, unclimbable fence. Sudden, loud noises still startle him, but he recovers quickly with love and encouragement. He even did well with thunder, and the distant, neighborhood fireworks on July 4th. He also does very well with the mobility impaired senior dog in the home. He is potty trained, crate trained, comes when we call him from the yard, and enjoys walks once he gets used to his area. He has not been introduced to cats.

Zippity just keeps improving every day and his horrible past is quickly becoming a distant memory. He is up to date on vaccinations, neutered and microchipped. He is in a foster home near San Antonio, TX.
