Meet Ben, a just over one year old, 90-pound, German Shepherd mix young fellow.

Ben is bursting with puppy love and playfulness!! He is just a big bundle of joy that hasnt had much basic training about what is expected of him to be a good dog! We think he would do best in a home with people who are around a lot, committed to helping him learn his manners, and he definitely would benefit from a canine sibling to keep him company and teach him the ropes. He does well with kids, but again he is big so dog savvy children would be a better match for him.

Ben can resort to chewing things that arent his when he is bored or not well exercised. So an active family ready to take him on hikes and adventures would be best. A fenced yard certainly would be a plus too.

He is handsome, loveable guy just ready for the right family to bond with and share his life with - be ready for slobbery kisses and lap cuddles!! (Even at 90 pounds, he still likes to cuddle)!

Could you use a love-joy infusion? Bring Big Ben home!

PLEASE READ: If a dog is listed, then s/he is currently available for adoption. Their information is correct to the best of our abilities and the information we have been given as of the day of posting. Please note, GDRNE does not guarantee the breed of any dog or puppy unless stated that we have run DNA. All breeds listed are educated estimates. Our dogs are rescued from various situations. It is most likely that both their parents were strays and even if not, mixes of some sort and that their grandparents were mixes as well. The dog may have some genetic material of an American Staffordshire Terrier (pit bull). The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them a breed all their own - a True and adorable American MUTT.
If you are interested in this dog, you must submit an application. Great Dog is not a shelter so there is no building you can visit. Our dogs live in private foster homes until adopted.
