You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Duke is a purebred 7 month old German Shepherd Dog who came to the shelter as an owner surrender. His person was transferred suddenly to another state and could not take him. This is the 2nd time this has happened to Duke so we really want his next home to be forever. Hes a gorgeous boy who will be neutered on Sept. 29th and his fee is $150. Duke has received some basic training but, as a young dog, he will need someone who can continue with the training that he needs. He is looking for someone with BREED EXPERIENCE. German Shepherd Dogs are not a dog for everyone. They are highly intelligent and sensitive dogs who require a lot of mental and physical exercise. Duke has not had a lot of experience with other dogs but does seem happy and playful around them. He is a little reserved at first with new people, which is somewhat typical of the breed. Hes a nice dog and very eager to please. NOTE: Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved. Applications can be submitted at our website, mchs.rescuegroups.org. We are located at 101 22nd St. SE in Austin, right next to the airport. Its exit 180B off of I-90, right off of 218 South. We do require that potential adopters be at least 21 years old and that any resident dogs be up to date on vaccinations, heartworm testing/preventative, and spayed or neutered.
