The first thing you notice about Tippy is her absolute beauty. Stunning would only begin to describe her. But a closer look reveals a sadness that can break your heart. Tippys eyes are indeed the window into her soul and they reveal a little girl trying to do her best to be brave in a world that frightens her so much. We dont know her background, but we do know that when she joined Coastal she was so overwhelmed by the noise of the kennel. Strangers were so scary for her. She didnt open up easily, until she made a special friend who came to visit her every day. But even the love of her new friend wasnt enough to help Tippy relax. She was barely a year old, and whatever trust in humans she had learned in her life before had melted away when she found herself in the shelter. We knew it would take a long time for Tippy to build a bond, and we knew that meant it would take a long time for Tippy to find a home. The kennel was just not the place for her to relax and learn to trust. If you are interested in meeting this dog, please fill out our online application first. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible. Prior to placement, all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are usually microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis. Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
