TUCKER was a stray dog from the Texas/ Mexico border. He has probably been a stray his whole life, never knowing the comfort of a home, a hearty meal or someone to love him. He was spotted by one of RTHs rescue partners out in the 100 degree Texas heat. RTH was contacted and asked to help. Tucker arrived at the vet in bad shape; completely matted, dehydrated, and malnourished. After a full battery of tests, Tucker was diagnosed with Heartworm disease, and 2 tick diseases - Anaplasmosis and Ehrlichia which attacks his immune system and ability to produce platelets which could be fatal if untreated. Tucker is still in Texas, where he is being looked after in an outside kennel. He is about 5 years old, 60lbs and friendly with other dogs and people.
