Resource guarding ~ has learned ‘drop it’
Very energetic

Hi everyone…my name is Donald and I’m a one-year-old puppy. I say ‘puppy’ because I still have that puppy energy and joie de vivre. Everything excites me because the world is an exciting place. I love people and other dogs but sometimes I get too excited and jump up on people and jump around other dogs because I want to play so I can be a bit much. Now, I have been going to school to learn your human ways and I’m told I’m doing really well, but am, as you say, a work-in-progress. Hey, I’m still a pup, so if you love life like I do and are active like I am, then maybe I’m your boy. I do have a thing called ‘resource guarding’ but I have learned the ‘drop it’ command, but you need to be a strong leader (and I respond better to men) as I will certainly test you. Mush-balls need not apply (heehee)! I respond to the ‘drop it’ command outside on my walks but inside I still steal items and guard them, so my training will have to continue. I am not bad on the leash until I see a critter or another dog, then all bets are off so you need to hang on during those situations. I am not a big barker. You can touch me anywhere. I love my car rides and walks and the doc says I’m a healthy boy. GR says for now I’d be better in a home with no small children, no other dogs, and definitely no cats, until I get out of my puppy enthusiasm stage. My amazing foster family describes me as a sweet, goofy, loving boy. Well, I think they are sweet, goofy, and loving as well (heehee).

Donald is currently being fostered in the North Toronto, ON area. If you would like more information about Donald please call our hot-line toll free at 1-866-712-8444 or email adoption@goldenrescue.ca and one of our volunteers will be happy to return your call.

FindpetTM is a Participating Pet Recovery Service Registry for the AAHA Universal Pet Microchip Lookup Tool. AAHA provides an internet-based application that enables veterinarians, humane organizations, pet owners or other persons to search various Pet Recovery Service registries and identify those registries on which a particular microchip is registered. AAHA is not affiliated or involved with any specific microchip registry and has no relationship, financial or otherwise, with this Participating Pet Recovery Service Registry ("Registry"). This Registry has given AAHA permission to search the Registry's database in order to assist pet owners in being reunited with their pets. AAHA does not maintain a database of microchips of its own. It only links to registries such as this one. The AAHA Universal Microchip Lookup Tool only searches the databases of companies that elect to participate in the program.
