Description:
Narek needs a life saving surgery...can you help?

This handsome pup is finally scheduled for his life-saving surgery!

Narek came to us at 5 months old when he was diagnosed with an intrahepatic shunt, an abnormal hookup of blood vessels that results in blood bypassing the liver, instead of filtering through it. The livers job is to remove toxins from the blood, and when the blood fails to circulate through the liver right, these toxins, including ammonia, build up. They cause lethargy, failure to grow and to thrive, falls, seizures and brain injury.

Since coming to GRRAND, Narek has been placed on medicine and a prescription diet as intermediary measures to help him start feeling better, and he traveled to Purdue for his initial CT scan and workup to see if he would benefit from surgery.

The good news? Specialists determined that Narek IS a candidate for surgery to try to reverse the flow of his abnormal liver shunt, the cardiac stent that is needed for the procedure and was on backorder is finally in, and Narek is scheduled for surgery on September 12th!

The bad news? The total costs, including the hospitalizations, testing, CT scans, and plasma transfusions Narek has already had plus the upcoming hospitalization and surgery, could be up to $12,000.

GRRAND has always committed to doing everything we can to help our dogs live their best lives, and Narek is no different! We could really use your support to continue making miracles happen.

Can you spare $10 for Narek?

If you would like to donate towards Nareks care, we would be so grateful: https://grrand.org/.../medical-crisis-hospice-care-donation/
