This beautiful boy is Louie. It is important to read the entire book on this cutie, because he is a more complex character.

Louie is a special dood with a developing story, and he is looking for that special someone willing to help him write his happy ending. That someone must be an experienced dog owner with strong, loving leadership skills—who enjoys training and has that special heart for the dogs that require more attention to reach their best potential.

Louie is a dog who was easy for many to give up on. DDR has put a lot of focused behavioral training into Louis, because we believe in him. He is smart, but he needs time to focus, listen well and learn. He can do all of these things, but you will need to be patient and consistent with him.

Louie has been working with a behaviorist/trainer for several months now and has made great progress. It is highly recommend to continuing with his current trainer, who lives in the Richardson area, after his adoption to aid in his successful transition. In recent months Louie has worked extremely hard to overcome fear anxiety, which affects his social skills. He has been muzzle and prong collar trained, which has allowed him to get out and about in social situations, and has desensitized him to strangers. This is huge progress for him, allowing him a more normal lifestyle!

Understanding Louie’s boundaries and his personal space will be a critical first step for his new family. Once he trusts you, he will bond quickly and be a loving companion. Louie lives for his walks, and exercise is a key part of managing his energy and maintaining his newly found social skills. And, boy does this guy love toys! A household with children is not for Louie, however, he very much enjoys playtime and companionship with other dogs. Louie will require planning and commitment. The kind of commitment that brings the greatest reward of know that you chose one that really needed you. If you are the kind of person who appreciates a meaningful journey, Louie is sure to be a most loyal friend who will adore you—and spend the rest of his life being forever grateful.
