Description:
Kono is very polite inside and is eager to please. He is really a nice balance of typical couch potato Dane and an energetic athletic guy. He can snooze for hours but also loves to run and play outside. He loves playing with his stuffed "babies" inside and does not tear them up. He is a very easy guy to be around. He likes to be near his humans but he isnt pushy or overly needy. Unlike a lot of dogs he seems to love and prefer men. Kono would thrive in a home with a man who wants to be his pal. He would do very well with older kiddos to keep him busy and throw the ball, but he can get excited and jump at you with the ball so he would probably accidentally knock over little kids. We are unsure about other dogs and his current foster keeps him separated from their dogs with no indication of wanting to mingle. He does well in his crate, he goes right in with no problem. He will bark a lot if we are still around or doing something with the other dogs but he does quiet down rather quickly. He is a wonderful boy who needs a family who understands boundaries, structure, and then love..

Please note GDRST is an all-volunteer, run by individuals with full time careers. In order to meet with a Dane that you are interested in,you will need to complete an application. After receiving your application, a volunteer will verify with your vet the care on your current or previous animals and then contact you to set up a home eval and to discuss which Dane may be a match for you.
