Big Abe, all 74 pounds of him, came to us as an owner surrender because he wouldnt leave the chickens alone. Abe is 2 years old, and is a Pyrenees/St. Bernard mix, according to his former owners. He was a little stressed when he first came in, but he is settling in well and we are starting to see his good-natured personality. Typical of his breed mix, Abe is gentle & calm. He is patient and not pushy or obnoxious about anything. Abe is dog-friendly with like-minded dogs. (We dont know how he would do with high energy, full-on-lets-play-all-the-time dogs.) Abe would make a perfect outside dog with inside privileges, and another quiet, gentle dog to hang with would suit him just fine. Just remember, he needs a chicken-free home! For more information, please email Stephens County Humane Society at schs@att.net, or call us at 580-252-7387 (PETS).
