Description:
Big Abe, all 74 pounds of him, came to us as an owner surrender because he wouldnt leave the chickens alone.

Abe is 2 years old, and is a Pyrenees/St. Bernard mix, according to his former owners. He was a little stressed when he first came in, but he is settling in well and we are starting to see his good-natured personality.

Typical of his breed mix, Abe is gentle & calm. He is patient and not pushy or obnoxious about anything. Abe is dog-friendly with like-minded dogs. (We dont know how he would do with high energy, full-on-lets-play-all-the-time dogs.)

Abe would make a perfect outside dog with inside privileges, and another quiet, gentle dog to hang with would suit him just fine. Just remember, he needs a chicken-free home! For more information, please email Stephens County Humane Society at schs@att.net, or call us at 580-252-7387 (PETS). Our animals are spayed/neutered, UTD on shots, and treated for ticks, & fleas. Cats are tested for FeLV & FIV; and dogs are tested for heart worms.

Normal adoption fee for cats is $75.00; and $100.00 for dogs, but we frequently have specials running and/or animals who have had their adoption fee sponsored, so ... call us! Let us help you find your next fur-baby!

FindpetTM is a Participating Pet Recovery Service Registry for the AAHA Universal Pet Microchip Lookup Tool. AAHA provides an internet-based application that enables veterinarians, humane organizations, pet owners or other persons to search various Pet Recovery Service registries and identify those registries on which a particular microchip is registered. AAHA is not affiliated or involved with any specific microchip registry and has no relationship, financial or otherwise, with this Participating Pet Recovery Service Registry ("Registry"). This Registry has given AAHA permission to search the Registry's database in order to assist pet owners in being reunited with their pets. AAHA does not maintain a database of microchips of its own. It only links to registries such as this one. The AAHA Universal Microchip Lookup Tool only searches the databases of companies that elect to participate in the program.
