Description:
George is a middle aged hound mix looking for his forever home. He generally likes other dogs, and enjoys playing and hanging with dogs he knows and trusts, but does need slow, proper introductions to them and is not a "dog park dog." He also needs slow intros to new people to be set up for success, this means that anyone who is new to George will have to be okay with taking it slow and earning his trust over time. But once he trusts you, he’s very sweet, snuggly and always happy to see his pals. No kids for Sir George. He likes to run, walk, hike, swim and is an all around great adventure buddy. He used to have issues in the car but does a lot better now, making him even more of a buddy dog. He would do best with a fenced in yard where he can hang out freely for the day when youre home because the more time he spends outside, the happier he is, though we’ll consider this on a case by case basis. He knows his basic commands (sit, stay, down, place, come, kennel up, etc) and walks well on leash.

PLEASE DO NOT INQUIRE ABOUT GEORGE IF:
-ANYONE under 18 lives in your home
-You are against the use of crates
-You do not understand that training is always ongoing and a lifestyle commitment, rather than an event
-You are looking for a dog that will be able to meet strangers on a whim

*PLEASE NOTE: All dogs are in foster care all over MA & RI. They are NOT at the cat shelter, which is the address listed on Petfinder. There are ONLY cats there. We do not set up meet and greets with dogs until after youve been approved to adopt. Please do not email asking us if you can come by and meet a dog the same day.*

FindpetTM is a Participating Pet Recovery Service Registry for the AAHA Universal Pet Microchip Lookup Tool. AAHA provides an internet-based application that enables veterinarians, humane organizations, pet owners or other persons to search various Pet Recovery Service registries and identify those registries on which a particular microchip is registered. AAHA is not affiliated or involved with any specific microchip registry and has no relationship, financial or otherwise, with this Participating Pet Recovery Service Registry ("Registry"). This Registry has given AAHA permission to search the Registry's database in order to assist pet owners in being reunited with their pets. AAHA does not maintain a database of microchips of its own. It only links to registries such as this one. The AAHA Universal Microchip Lookup Tool only searches the databases of companies that elect to participate in the program.
