ADOPT ME ONLINE: https://ophrescue.org/dogs/12057 Hi, My name is Quincy! Im guessed to be a 3 year old Hound mix and weigh about 61 lbs. Ive just arrived in Rockville, MD at my fosters and Im settling in nicely. I was kind of high energy upon arrival, as everything looked and smelled new to me. But now Im more relaxed and feeling more chill. About me: Im an affectionate guy, peppy, but not rambunctious. I like people and they sure like me! Im docile when given attention, and I sure do like it. Now, last night my foster put water and soap all over me. I cant say I liked that and I surely dont know why he did that to me. We were getting along so well up til then. But he got past that little moment of crazy and were friends again. How am I on the leash, you ask? Well, those things are new to me. I want to go here, and there, and over there, but the leash doesnt let me. I would say Im frustrated but no, Im too happy and giddy just to be walking around with someone minding me. Wowee, the world is good! Of course what would REALLY make me happy is to find my permanent home. Ive got so much to offer. In return I just want your support and affection. I do have a little medical thing to get through (see below) but shortly after that Ill be ready to start my new life! Give me a look! ==================== This dog tested positive for heartworm disease before arriving to the rescue. The disease was treated while in foster care. Heartworm disease is transmitted to a dog through a bite from an infected mosquito. With monthly preventatives, the disease is completely preventable. Read about heartworm disease here: Read more about heartworm disease here here To adopt fill out the simple online application at https://ophrescue.org Operation Paws for Homes, Inc. (OPH) rescues dogs and cats of all breeds and ages from high-kill shelters in NC, VA, MD, and SC, reducing the numbers being euthanized. With limited resources, the shelters are forced to put down 50-90% of the animals that come in the front door. OPH provides pet adoption services to families located in VA, DC, MD, PA and neighboring states. OPH is a 501(c)(3) organization and is 100% donor funded. OPH does not operate a shelter or have a physical location. We rely on foster families who open their homes to give love and attention to each pet before finding a forever home. All adult dogs, cats, and kittens are altered prior to adoption. Puppies too young to be altered at the time of adoption must be brought to our partner vet in Ashland, VA for spay or neuter paid for by Operation Paws for Homes by 6 months of age. Adopters may choose to have the procedure done at their own vet before 6 months of age and be reimbursed the amount that the rescue would pay our partner vet in Ashland.
