Hi there, Pittie/hound  lovers!  My name is Petey and I’m hoping for a place to hang my leash forever.  I love my person a lot, but he’s an older human and, since I’m getting to be pretty big, I guess I’m becoming a bit too much for him to handle.  I’m now 9 months old and weigh in at about 60 pounds with plenty of puppy playfulness so, I’m sad to say, he needs to find me a new home.  They tell me I’m a very sweet boy, and I really do try to be good, but at my age, I can’t help getting a little rambunctious when I’m showing my love.  I know I’ll learn how to control my enthusiasm with a family that has experience raising a large dog and the time to train me and give me the exercise I need to use some of my puppy energy. 

Here are some things I can tell you about me. I spend most of my time outside, but my house manners are good when I’m inside and I don’t have accidents.  I also walk nicely on a leash.  I’m a little shy when I meet new humans and will try to hide behind my owner, but I love people and warm up fast once I get to know them.  Though, I don’t live with children, I know I’d enjoy having kids in my family.  They should be 12 or older, because I’m still kind of bull in a china shop...LOL  I also get along nicely with other dogs.  A canine buddy close to my size in my new home would be great. I might unintentionally overwhelm a little dog if I play too rough. I have not been around cats so a feline free home would probably be best.

You’ll be glad to know that I’ve been neutered and I’m up to date with my vaccinations.  I’m also micro-chipped and on monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventative. All I need is a pittie/hound -loving forever home where I can grow up to become the dog I’m meant to be.  I’m not perfect yet, but I may be the perfect companion for you.
