This cute 10 month old boy is Zip! He is a new arrival for Placing Paws and thought to be mixed with hound. His family left him with a friend, then unbeknownst to them, up and moved across the country without even saying goodbye to this poor pup! His foster mom sees soooo much potential! Hes so eager to learn and picks up new lessons quickly. Zip is working hard to be a good boy and is learning more doggy manners each day. His training sessions are best after hes had a little time to run around his fenced yard and burn off some of his puppy energy. He is a typical puppy! All energy and play play play! He is good with other dogs and would do great with a dog of similar energy. Dont be fooled by all that action because once he bonds with you, he wants to be by your side and plop in your lap... foster mom calls him Velcro dog! Zip is going to make someone a great friend and family dog because Zip LOVES kids! That being said, he is fearful of strangers and needs time (only about 15 minutes) to warm up to new people but foster mom is working on socialization too. Zip also has zero resource guarding (no food or toy aggression) which is awesome! You can take anything out of his mouth with no issue. Plus he is doing great with "leave it" which comes in very handy with a puppy! Zip is also doing well with his leash training though we really want him to have a big fenced yard.

ADOPTION FEE: $425.00 The adoption fee includes all age appropriate vaccinations including rabies, HW test if age appropriate, de-worming, microchip, fecal, spay or neuter, Heartworm and flea and tick preventative.  ADOPTION PROCESS: PLEASE READ CAREFULLY The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application online at www.placingpawsrescue.org. Once we review the applications, those applicants that are thought to be a good match will be contacted as quickly as possible. We ask that you please be patient with us as we are all volunteers. Then a telephone interview will take place, references checked and a home visit will be conducted. We will then arrange for you to meet the dog. We require that all family members, including current dogs meet the dog prior to adoption.  We put all of the known information in the animals description. If the animal is listed on the website, we are still accepting applications for that animal. We only remove the animal when the final adoption paperwork is signed.
