Description:
Im Copper, a 17-month-old pup in Washington after being rescued from the Middle East. I am high energy, smart, and I really like to be around other dogs (especially big, confident ones!). When comfortable with my surroundings, I love exploring, water, and being petted! I am about 75 pounds.

I am a very good boy but too many changes and certain noises make me anxious. I need a calm, loving, experienced person to provide support and positive reinforcement help me overcome my fears.

MORE ABOUT ME
Not much is known about my life while I was in the Middle East. My rescuer saw a car stopped and a plastic bag was tossed out. Something was moving in the plastic bag that caught her attention. She stopped and cut the bag open and found a live puppy in the plastic bag, me. The tip of my ears had been cut off, and I was all alone, cast off at only 4 months old. My rescuer took me home and soon after that I came to the USA in the hopes of finding a better life and a loving family.

Other dogs are a joy to me and I am polite, playful and friendly with them. I definitely feel more comfortable around dogs than people, and will trust you more readily if other dogs vouch for you. Currently, I am loving half-days spent at daycare, running and playing with all my new friends!

Please understand that I will need ample adjustment, time, and support while getting used to a new home. I will need you to be around all the time and stay with me until I am comfortable—this may take time! I will need to learn to trust you. Once I trust you, you will find that I am very sweet and loving!

I am a smart boy and a quick learner. I am currently in training to help me manage situations that cause me stress. I will need a calm, experienced, and patient person to continue that training and help me overcome my trepidation and learn to trust people better.

I love spending time outside—I adore lakes, streams, ponds and puddles! Water is fun, and getting in the water helps me relax.

I am vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped.

Given my nervousness, I would do best in a child-free home. I have not been around kitties yet, so my feelings about them are unknown.

Thank you so much for considering me!!!
