To be considered for adopting a dog from Canine Lifeline, you must have an approved application must be on file. Please visit http://www.caninelifeline.org/adoption-process/ for more information about our adoption process and to submit an online application. Tahoe is a very handsome 1.5 year-old Husky/Cattle Dog mix neutered male who originally came to us from an overcrowded county dog shelter in summer 2021. He was adopted in January but recently returned after about 4 months due to his owners health issues. Tahoe is super dog-friendly and loves to play and wrestle with other dogs so he is definitely going to need a home where hell have a playful canine buddy. He will also need a yard with a secure aboveground fence. Tahoe can be shy and fearful when meeting new people so would do best in a home in a quiet neighborhood or rural area where he doesnt have to meet strangers continually. In our experience, he seems to be more wary of men initially than women but while hes been in our care, he tends to warm up quickly to new people especially if there are other dogs around to boost his confidence. Tahoe is very food-motivated and responds quickly when yummy treats are in the offing. He was housetrained in his previous home and is also crate-trained. Tahoe walks nicely on a leash and knows basic commands as well. This boy needs a calm, confident owner who has the time and patience to allow him to adjust to his new home in his own time. Tahoe weighs about 45 pounds and his adoption fee is $350. Hes neutered, heartworm negative and on monthly preventative, up to date on vaccinations including bivalent canine influenza, wormed, on flea and tick preventative, and microchipped. As part of the adoption process, all adopters must commit to a two-week adjustment period to make sure its a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email info@caninelifeline.org if youre interested in Tahoe. An approved application is required before we schedule meets with any of our dogs. Please note that we dont place our dogs in homes with children under 7 years of age. We correspond via email so please check your junkmail or spam folder to make sure our reply hasnt landed in there. Please visit our website at www.caninelifeline.org to see more photos of Tahoe and to submit an online application.
