Because we are all volunteers, Illinois Doberman Rescue Plus only considers approved applicants to meet our orphans in our foster homes. Please read our eligibility requirements and apply on our website: www.ildoberescue.com/adopt. After an application is submitted, additional inquiries can email PlusDogs@ILDobeRescue.com. Our adoption radius is 3 hours from the Chicagoland area. Stanley is a happy young boy that will certainly require some exercise. The Jack Russell Terrier blood is strong in him as he is a playful pup that loves long walks, de-stuffing the stuffed toys, or playing fetch & return with a ball. He came to IDR+ and has quickly integrated into his foster home with two resident male Chihuahua mixes. As an “alpha” male dog, he showed his dominance with the two resident dogs, but after a few days, that dominant behavior stopped and he is happily a part of the pack now. His ideal home is one with a fenced yard so he can run around. He does well with people (both male & female) and with dogs his size. He is a “jumper” so he will need to be supervised around small children. He is quiet inside unless he sees someone or another dog outside then he feels that it’s his duty to let you know. But for the most part he enjoys napping during the day in his dog bed or in the lap of his foster mom. Stanley is a smart, fun loving boy that is potty trained and responds well to basic commands. He quickly learned the household routines in his foster home. He is house trained and crate trained and while he sometimes complains about going into his crate, he settles down after awhile. Overall, he is a sweet boy with a happy demeanor that would do well as an only pet or with dogs his size and will be happy any place he can snuggle and call his fur-ever home. We respond quickly to applications so please check your Spam or Junk email folders to prevent missing our response.
