Choco is a 19 pound, eight-year-old tricolor Jack/Fox Terrier, who has the energy of a five-year-old. He is house trained, neutered and up-to-date on his vaccinations. As he is not crate trained yet, he does well when gated in a separate room to eat his food away from his other housemates, otherwise he would eat their food. Choco likes car rides and is good on a leash to the extent that he doesn’t pull hard; however, he is reactive to other dogs by barking. He will do well in a positive reinforcement training class or at home with treats as Choco is very smart and aims to please. Choco behaves well enough with other dogs in his foster home, but Choco will do best as the only dog in his forever home. His strong prey drive makes him ill-suited to life alongside other pets, such as cats or small mammals, and his bossy nature can cause friction with other dogs. A fully fenced yard would be ideal for him so he could safely run to his hearts content. He needs a terrier-smart home with a regular amount of daily exercise for this very terrier-ish terrier since a bored Jack Terrier mix is liable to make his own entertainment by barking and/or chewing. Choco is highly affectionate and enthusiastic with everyone in the family, but he still does not want to be picked up by anyone.
