Ryder is a sweet, affectionate 2 year old 56 lb. male Labradoodle in a foster home in Houston, TX. He was surrendered to IDOG by his family who loved him very much and wanted him to be with a family who had more time for him. Here is what Ryder’s foster family has to say about this precious guy:

Ryder is a good boy! He absolutely loves people and craves attention and cuddles. He thinks he’s a lap dog and will try to sit in the lap of anyone around him! He is house-trained and listens to commands very well (‘come,’ ‘no,’ ‘go to sleep’, ‘take’ (for food/treats). He sleeps in his crate all night without a peep.

Ryder is very friendly with other dogs and previously lived with 3 others. His previous owners reported that Ryder had a very hard time settling down in their home. After observing him in his foster home Ryder does seem to have a slightly anxious personality, but has taken the lead of his calm foster dog sibling and settles very well most of the day. He would do best in a home with another calm dog or even as an only dog who occasionally attends doggie daycare for play/socialization!

Ryder loves car rides, but will need to be on a harness or tether as he will roam all over the car and even attempt to jump out of windows!

His ideal home would be with experienced dog owners who can provide a calm, structured routine as well as physical exercise throughout the day. Ideally he would have someone who works from home or is home frequently and doesnt keep him kenneled all day.
