Duke is a lab/boxer mix who is 6 years old.  He is looking for a new forever home. He is neutered and up to date on all vaccines.  He would be a great companion for someone active looking for a new best friend.  Duke would love a person or family with a fenced yard, someone to take him on walks or rides in the car and hang out and love him forever. He likes to go on walks and needs a confident handler as he hasnt been socialized with many other dogs.  He likes to bark at other dogs and try to pull on the leash towards them and needs someone who knows how to meet and greet him to other dogs.  Dukes ideal family would be one without small children or other dogs.  He has been around cats but generally just ignores them.  He is playful and likes to fetch, run around, swim, go on walks and explore.  He would enjoy a family that likes to play with him.  He is very affectionate towards his owners and just likes to be around them.  He likes to be petted and receive affection and will rest his head in your lap as you watch TV.  If youre working around the house, he will follow you and just hang out.  He is good with boundaries and will stay nicely behind a very simple barrier.  When left home alone, he awaits your return and happily greets you.  He is fine to be left by himself to roam the house and doesnt chew or destroy things.
