Hi there! My name is Alley and I am an amazing dog if I do say so myself. I am relaxed at home and can hunker down for a looong nap after a good walk... (zzzzz). I certainly do enjoy being the only dog in the household as I so appreciate human attention and kindness.

I am a guy who likes my neighborhood walks. Hey, with a name like Alley, that was obvious, eh?! I love my walks with plenty of sniffing and lots of catching up on local dog news. I am respectful of human possessions but I do like my own basket of sticks to chew on. Your shoes, yoga props, delicate plants, and other personal items are definitely safe around me! Another thing I like to do is to search for hidden treats. My foster mom says that I am an expert at making them shower out of a stuffed item, like a kong toy.

I do have a few struggles to maintain my calm when I am approached by strangers as well as dogs I dont know. I have made great strides, however, and I so appreciate my amazing support team who have been helping me with this, including two super skilled dog walkers, a great, great trainer, as well as others, all wanting to see me thrive.
I am working on remaining calm and carrying on when out and about amongst strangers and dogs. Due to my bite history, when feeling threatened and unsure, I am very agreeable to wear a muzzle outside and if there are new people in close proximity.
My support team says that I am well on my way to becoming a calm, confident dog and that I am building positive coping strategies for life in my forever home.
Ideally, my team would like to help me to make a very gradual transition from my foster home to my forever home and, in a perfect universe, to find someone willing to keep working with my dog walker and trainer routines for a few months, to ensure success.
Here is what my team (I like to call them my fans) have said about me - "Alley has shown such determination and effort and would be well-matched with a human who can reward him for his admirable efforts."

Is there a loving adopter out there who would like me to join them? Please come and meet me soon. I am praying to the Universe everyday that I will finally find my place in the world – hopefully with you.

HISTORY: I had a challenging beginning in Bali. Rescuers found me on the streets. I was very ill from blood parasites but with good veterinary care, I fully recovered. I then spent several years sharing a courtyard with several other dogs. When the family who had taken care of me there were returning to their home country, I was selected for rescue to Canada. Since my arrival here, I have had a few challenges, most of which I have recently overcome. How terrific, eh?!

I am neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. My adoption fee is by donation.
