Description:
This is Woody (black) & Joe-Joe (tan). They are wonderful, perfect dogs who have hit a sad time in their lives. Their Dad suddenly and unexpectedly passed away. Woody & Joe-Joe were the center of his universe.

Friends of Joe-Joes & Woody’s Dad immediately thought of the dogs after they received the sad news of losing their friend. A neighbor had made a report of hearing the dogs uncharacteristically barking nonstop from inside their home. As normal protocol in this type of situation, Animal Control took the dogs to the local shelter, as there were no other humans living in the home. Friends of the deceased found the boys at the shelter, still in a “hold” status. The shelter is releasing the dogs to us at Lucky Paws Rescue so that we can ensure they will stay together.

Here are some details:

*Woody is 5 years old, 71 pounds
*Joe-Joe is 7 years old, 85 pouns
*Both dogs are great on the leash and respond well to commands
*Joe-Joe is super chill, while Woody is a little more energetic, but both dogs love to lounge inside the home
*Both boys are neutered and were previous rescue dogs
*They are very, very bonded
*There is zero knowledge of them around cats
*They are of mixed breeds; JoeJoe may have lab, shepherd, boxer, or other breeds; Woody looks to have some Pitbull or American Staffordshire mixed with at least one other breed; we really cant be sure. But both dogs are of amazing temperaments!

Joe-Joe & Woody were popular visitors at the local Farmer’s Market each weekend, where they enjoyed meeting people and other dogs. They’ve not been around kids a lot, but we were told their Dad used to give treats to kids at the market to feed them and both dogs took them very gently. Everyone, including the shelter employees, has said how incredible, sweet, and easy these boys are.

Can you foster them, or would you be interested in adopting?
