This 10yr old fellow, P.J., was living contentedly with his owner, a paraplegic Vietnam Veteran, who had rescued him off the streets, when a tragic house fire occurred. Somehow P.J. survived event although his owner did not. His kind-hearted neighbor, who happens to foster for us, took him in and cared for him until the owners son was able to make decisions about the future of many things, PJ included. PJ suffered from smoke inhalation but kept returning to his home crying throughout the burned ruins. We were concerned for his health and safety but it was impossible to contain him inside. Once the son decided to let P.J. be surrendered in order to find him a new home, we were able to get him the necessary vetting he needed. The vet describes him as a very nice boy, who just wants to loved on. His current foster describes him as a wonderful boy who is still grieving. P.J. needs a new start with someone loving and kind, someone who can help heal his grieving heart. He has lived his whole life as an indoor-outdoor cat but does enjoy being warm and cozy. At his age, it is time to give him all the comforts and only let him outside in a catio if he demands it. He has been neutered, is up to date on shots, tested for FeLV and FIV, been microchipped, deflead, and dewormed. An application, safety homecheck, landlord approval if renting, and an adoption fee are required. Discount to seniors, military/veterans, and with proof of disability.
