Description:
Sweet Maximilian is here, and he is looking for just the right forever family. This 1-year-old male Mastiff Mix was surrendered to Big Dogs Huge Paws, when his owner was unable to care for him any longer. We are fairly confident that he was mostly kept outside, unsocialized, and likely mistreated, because the world is a pretty scary place for Max right now, especially as it relates to men. This poor boy has a lot of fear and will run, cower, bark and growl at people, but he has never acted on that uncertainty and just wants to intimidate so you will go away. If you go slow and give him time to approach when he is ready, he will warm up. Once he knows he can trust you, he is a big love, will be your shadow, and he is the epitome of gentle in how he takes treats and plays. We think he has a lot of potential with the right quiet, calm environment without young children and an owner who can provide him with structure and routine. He needs experienced owners who can help him feel safe and confident, knowing he will be loved and cared for the rest of his life. He knows the spoils of indoor life but doesnt take them for granted and he just wants to know he is safe. He is house trained, trustworthy with free roam, and doesnt get on furniture. He is good with other dogs, but will need a cat free home. If this gorgeous guy pulls at your heart strings, you can find out more about Max if your adoption application is in and up to date.

FindpetTM is a Participating Pet Recovery Service Registry for the AAHA Universal Pet Microchip Lookup Tool. AAHA provides an internet-based application that enables veterinarians, humane organizations, pet owners or other persons to search various Pet Recovery Service registries and identify those registries on which a particular microchip is registered. AAHA is not affiliated or involved with any specific microchip registry and has no relationship, financial or otherwise, with this Participating Pet Recovery Service Registry ("Registry"). This Registry has given AAHA permission to search the Registry's database in order to assist pet owners in being reunited with their pets. AAHA does not maintain a database of microchips of its own. It only links to registries such as this one. The AAHA Universal Microchip Lookup Tool only searches the databases of companies that elect to participate in the program.
