PAPA BEAR WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL SHELTER WHERE WE RESCUED HIM AND THREE BABIES. WE WERE TOLD THAT PAPA BEAR WAS THE MOM BUT WE DISCOVERED THAT IT WAS AN INTACT MALE AND NOT A FEMALE. FOUR BABIES WERE TAKEN TO THE SHELTER WITH PAPA BEAR. ONE BABY PASSED AWAY OVER NIGHT AT THE SHELTER. SADLY, THE REMAINING THREE KITS PASSED AWAY IN FOSTER CARE. WE DID ALL THAT WE COULD TO SAVE THEM. PAPA BEAR WAS VERY LOVING AND NEUTERING TOWARD THE KITS. WE THINK HE MIGHT HAVE BEEN THE DAD BUT WE DON’T KNOW FOR SURE.

PAPA BEAR WAS SO SAD WHEN THE KITS PASSED AWAY THAT WE PUT HIM IN WITH THE FIVER. FIVER IS A SWEET BOY. HE IS REALLY PLAYFUL AND LOVES TO BE PET.

Rabbits make wonderful indoor pets. They should NEVER live in a hutch in your backyard, especially in the Sacramento area. The summer heat is too much for them. Plus theyd get very lonely and bored . Rabbits are social creatures that should be part of the family. They are curious and smart and playful. They will bond with other rabbits, people, cats, and even dogs.
