You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Introducing Balto. He is looking for a new forever home. His mom has stage 4 cancer and she wants to find him a place soon as he will outlive her. He is sweet as pie but needs the right home who knows how to handle a dog like him. Heres the lowdown on Balto. Balto is 6 years old. She has had him for five years. Was her sons dog who rescued him at 4 months old from being taken to the shelter for trying to grab a chicken nugget from a toddlers hand. So a home with young children would not be ideal for him. Balto has a high prey drive,so cats (this has been tested and he cant be trusted around cats), small dogs, and other small animals would not be a good fit. He does get along with other dogs closer to his size. Not sure if hed want to be alpha or not with other dogs. He is on a fresh raw diet for allergies but that can be explored with a vet to see if there is a kibble out there for him. He is less itchy and sheds less on the raw diet. He loves to run and sometimes goes to a friends farm. He is an avid fetcher. He is good with both men and women but is a little leery of men sometimes. He does have some trust issues which can be talked about in more depth with anyone interested in him. He knows basic commands: sit, down, stay, come (but can be iffy if hes distracted or chasing something), leave-it. He is crate trained. Not sure about how good he is leash walking without pulling. Might need some training there. Hes very loyal to his owner and can get upset when being left with someone new so it will be an adjustment period for his new home. I know this sounds like a lot, but he is a special dog. He truly is sweet but does need the right environment to thrive. There is a small adoption/rehoming fee

FindpetTM is a Participating Pet Recovery Service Registry for the AAHA Universal Pet Microchip Lookup Tool. AAHA provides an internet-based application that enables veterinarians, humane organizations, pet owners or other persons to search various Pet Recovery Service registries and identify those registries on which a particular microchip is registered. AAHA is not affiliated or involved with any specific microchip registry and has no relationship, financial or otherwise, with this Participating Pet Recovery Service Registry ("Registry"). This Registry has given AAHA permission to search the Registry's database in order to assist pet owners in being reunited with their pets. AAHA does not maintain a database of microchips of its own. It only links to registries such as this one. The AAHA Universal Microchip Lookup Tool only searches the databases of companies that elect to participate in the program.
