Devi lay for days in a backyard, somehow managing to survive until volunteer Jessi made the long drive to rescue him. We soon discovered why brave Devi couldn’t stand: his left hip was dislocated, and his right leg had sustained multiple fractures. Devi also had a long wound on his underside from laying and trying to scoot on the ground for so long. After plenty of rest and TLC, Devi has healed and is now soaking up the pampering, grunting conversationally, and getting stronger every day. Because of nerve damage from the original fracture in his right leg Devi doesn’t bear full weight on this leg anymore, but with his left leg and the assistance of his right leg Devi hops around the house quite well. Even after all he’s been through, Devi is a gentle and trusting bird. His courage is inspiring, and he will be a source of joy in his very lucky foster or forever home!
