Murray is an approximately 2 year old pitbull mix ( possibly mixed with boxer) who was brought to the shelter by a Good Samaritan who found him wandering the streets. He is a true diamond in the rough with a sweet demeanor and a bull in a china shop zest for life.

Soon after Murray arrived at the shelter, it was discovered that he was having issues with his back legs due to an old pelvic fracture. He had been on crate rest for several weeks and then had been overlooked for months while on the adoption floor. It was decided by his compassionate volunteers that he needed a fun day of Enrichment at K9 Connection. The staff was amused by his goofy personality and his bouncy play style with other dogs and wanted to continue to help him. He was taken in to foster by one of the trainers so that he
can continue to work on his obedience, leash manners and exercises to help strengthen his hind legs.

Murray is a big, STRONG boy and requires a strong handler for walks. Training will be required as part of his adoption. While he has been friendly with everyone he has met, we recommend a home without small children as he doesn’t not know his own strength and he will plow into you and take you out at the knees. We are working on that too:)

Murray is living with male and female dogs, both big and small and does well with them all. He tires easily when playing due to discomfort in his legs. He hasn’t met the resident cats yet.

He is working on crate training and house training. We will update with more information as he acclimates to home life.
