Rescuing Smurf...
Smurf was at Dekalb County Animal Services since 2020. He has been overlooked for 2 years. He was a staff favorite and many volunteers loved this boy and would take him on outings, sleepovers and day trips but his dream of a forever home never came true. Until 4/27/2022 when a volunteer decided to take him home and foster him to give him a chance at finding his forever perfect family!

About Smurf...
Smurf
loves snuggling, getting booty scratches, eating treats and pleasing his humans. People, people and more people! He loves them all! He loves learning new tricks and training. He is pretty smart but also has a stubborn side. Smurf gets really anxious especially around other dogs and his response is to be defensive so he is not suited for a home with other animals. He has gotten much better walking around other dogs outside because all his "people" have taught him to look at them or touch their hand and I get treats. Smurf was a frequent house guest of some of the Dekalb volunteers and he really enjoyed getting to train, laying on the couch with the family and playing with the her children!! He is very gentle with them. This boy wants a pitbull savvy home where he can relax, learn some new stuff and work on his socialization issues with other dogs. This little nugget is the most energetic and affectionate pups youll ever meet, and he has won so many people over with his endearing personality.

Currently, Smurf is in a foster home, and they tell us that he has pretty much been the perfect dog. Theyve been working with him to redirect his high-energy and get him 100% housetrained (hes only had one accident!), and so far, his foster family tells us that hes been making wonderful progress. They were sure to let us know that he is "such a funny, sweet, awesome little nugget of a dog!" Youll never be bored with Smurf. He is a charming, funny, loving, and spunky pup that is waiting to find the forever family that is perfect for him.

Adopting Smurf...

Smurf is neutered, current on vaccines, dewormed, heartworm tested negative and microchipped. He is on monthly preventatives also. His adoption fee is $300.00.
