Black dogs have the lowest adoption rate and the highest euthanasia rate than any other color dog in
shelters. Those that are adopted typically spend about 4-times longer in the shelter waiting for their
forever family. It’s a phenomenon that shelter workers and rescuers are all too familiar with called
“Black Dog Syndrome.”

Cerbeus came to the shelter as an owner surrender through no fault of his own. Cerbeus was part of a
litter of puppies and his previous owner had too many dogs. He would love to find a forever home and
a family of his own to love and hang out with. He knows basic commands and is house and crate
trained. He is good on and off leash.
Are you looking for a hiking buddy? Cerbeus is your guy! He hikes every Friday with shelter
volunteers and other shelter dogs and does great.

PAWS WEEK 5 UPDATE:
Cerbeus continues to make strides forward. He did well on his mock CGC exam even with some high
distractions around. He has also made progress in how well he does in different training areas that are
very high distraction and brand new areas to him. He has also taken very well to learning some new
tricks.
