**Blue Harrison has been in boarding awaiting his forever family. This means he will need extra time, patience, and training to learn manners and how to thrive in your home. It will be extra work, but we promise he is worth it!**

Blue found himself homeless when the rescue who brought him for boarding closed down and abandoned him. True to pittie form though, he holds no grudges!

Blues foster mom (who has worked with dogs for decades) says he is one of the smartest dogs she has ever worked with! Described as goofy, friendly, and playful Blue is looking for an active family who is willing to continue his training and provide all of the physical and mental stimulation he will need to be 100% good boy! Due to his energy levels, we would recommend no cats or kids under 10. We think Blue would do fine with another dog in the home, but would also be okay being the center of your world! Blue is kennel and housetrained, loves splashing around in the pool, and playing with toys. Check out the YouTube video link posted at the top of this bio :)

Our intake coordinators noted upon meeting him that he was very energetic, jumpy, and displayed lack of attention. Before taking him into the play group we walked him on leash back and fourth to burn some energy. It took him a while to get him to pay attention. We ran back and forth with him practicing snap and release. He eventually understood his handler is in charge and started to respond much better. After settling him down outside we took him into the play yard with the other dogs. He immediately went to the pool and paid no mind to the other dogs at first. With Blue being in boarding for a long time since August 2021,always being kenneled, and considering his breed and age, he was very friendly and curious once he noticed the dogs. Blue was allowing the other dogs to greet him, he was very respectful, and understood social ques. Blue was not overly playing and was able to take treats nicely while the other dogs were around and during food test he avoided the food bowl when another dog was around. He was interacting and playing with all the dogs the entire assessment. He is a very sweet boy. Needs consistent leash work, firm corrections from his handler, and his handler needs to be able to create a bond with him so that he will be able to listen to and trust them.

The stray and animal overpopulation in the Greater Houston area is one of the highest in the nation. Statistics show that there are over 1 million homeless animals in this region alone! Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no choice but to euthanize animals for space. We prepare them for adoption by properly vetting and providing individualized care through our incredible behavior program that consists of socialization and leash training for all animals that enter our adoption program prior to matching them with loving families who will treasure them for the rest of their lives. They are rescue dogs and will require continued training efforts once adopted, but will be well on their way to being the best dogs that they can be!

Three Little Pitties Rescue will soon be celebrating our 5 year anniversary! Over the course of this time, we have been very fortunate for so much growth, allowing us to further connect with the community and save many lives. Through the combined efforts of all of our hardworking staff and volunteers, we have placed over 10,000 very lucky dogs and cats into amazing homes! By adopting from us, you save TWO lives! The pet you adopt, and you create an opportunity for another animal to be brought into our rescue program. Together, we can be heroes.
