Meet Woodrow
Sometimes we just have to shake our heads and get it together for the dog’s sake. You see, this beautiful boy’s previous owner just walked away from him and never looked backed. Woodrow was found in an empty apartment after his owner moved out. He’d been without food, water, fresh air and no way out for who knows how long. Eventually, Woodrow was found by someone who works at the apartment complex. When Woodrow’s finder tried to keep him he was told no way by apartment management. Luckily, Woodrow’s hero asked us for help and we gladly took him in on June 8, 2019. As of this date, he has spent over two years in our shelter, which breaks our hearts.
Woodrow is a wonderful dog. He’s nothing but silly and sweet. He is currently almost 5 years old and weighs 65 lbs. Our best guess is that Woodrow is an American Pitbull terrier mix. He has beautiful markings and a sleek physique. He loves every person he meets, but he does not like other dogs and cats so would be best as an only pet. Woodrow is showing himself to be a big love bug. He is an active dog and would do great with a family or person that makes him part of their activities. He walks well on a leash and is housetrained. We’re saddened that he could be so cruelly abandoned, but heartened that he is now safe and being loved on by shelter staff and volunteers. In a few short days, he’s become a shelter favorite.
Woodrow has been fully vetted, neutered and microchipped. If you’re looking for a gentle (and fun) giant to make part of your family, come meet Woodrow. He’s that special kind of dog that will love to be your forever companion.

FindpetTM is a Participating Pet Recovery Service Registry for the AAHA Universal Pet Microchip Lookup Tool. AAHA provides an internet-based application that enables veterinarians, humane organizations, pet owners or other persons to search various Pet Recovery Service registries and identify those registries on which a particular microchip is registered. AAHA is not affiliated or involved with any specific microchip registry and has no relationship, financial or otherwise, with this Participating Pet Recovery Service Registry ("Registry"). This Registry has given AAHA permission to search the Registry's database in order to assist pet owners in being reunited with their pets. AAHA does not maintain a database of microchips of its own. It only links to registries such as this one. The AAHA Universal Microchip Lookup Tool only searches the databases of companies that elect to participate in the program.
