Hi, my name is Braxton! I am a 10 lb, 8 year old male poodle mix. My owner recently passed away, and I was placed in a overcrowded shelter for a few days. So, my friends at Beacon of Hope Dog Rescue are helping me to find a new forever home. I am neutered, microchipped, updated on vaccinations, heartworm negative and fully housebroken. I love to go outside; and, I ride well in the front seat of a car where I can be right beside my driver. I love to play with cats and smaller dogs, as long as they are calm and easy-going; but, larger dogs and constant barking scare me. I do not like crates or being cornered. Loud noises, too much activity, and strangers who are too eager to pet me make me nervous and snippy. So, I need a home with no children where my new family can respect my space and give me a little time to get used to them. If you can sit quietly, talk to me softly, and let me come to you for cuddles when I am ready, I might just be the right dog for you! Once I can see that you are friendly and gentle, I will quickly become your very best friend. I will follow you everywhere, snuggle up beside you, and want you to pet and play with me. I am however, found to be territorial of my human so an adopter that is experienced with possessive poodles will be considered first. My ideal home would be a retired person with another small dog or a cat. Better yet, I love the outdoors so much, I would love hanging out at a small farm as I go to one on weekends with my foster and I love it! Please contact Beacon of Hope Dog Rescue if you would like more information about me or to request an application or you can go to beacondogrescue.com to download and fill out the application. Approved application and adoption fee of $250 will apply. Please contact Pam Danford at 804-229-4043 with questions and to request an application.
