Description:
Zip is a very handsome 8 year old Apricot Miniature Poodle. He weighs 16 pounds and loves to play with other dogs! Puppy parties in the play yards are one of his favorite things. He also is enjoying time with people.

Zip likes all dogs and relies on more confident dogs, therefore he needs a more confident dog in his new home to help him continue to grow. He is smart, social, sensitive and observant. He is also food motivated which helps so much with helping him adjust to new situations such as your home. He and his new dog sibling or siblings will need a safely enclosed yard with at least a 5 foot high fence to keep this handsome guy safe.

Zip is easy to catch and take out for play. He loves to be pet and scratched. He is learning hands mean love and treats. Zip recently got to have a day out with a volunteer and he loved it. He was very curious and loved his adventure. He enjoyed meeting the volunteers father and sat next to him. He wanted to move around and explore. He did pretty well on a leash but will continue to work on walking in a more direct path as he was more interested in smelling everything.

We love this fun guy and think you will too. If you would like to meet Zip, please apply at NMDR.org.

Prior to being rescued, many of our dogs have experienced minimal socialization. As a result, there is often an adjustment period when learning about life as a family pet. We typically do not adopt to homes with young children. Homes with older children will be considered on an individual basis. Common skills such as house training and leash walking will often take a little extra time. Patience, understanding and a gentle hand are a must. Many of our dogs will need fenced yards and a confident dog in the family. The great news is, most of these dogs come around rather quickly and being a part of their rehabilitation is an extremely rewarding experience.
