Sid is the kind of guy who doesnt let hard times get him down! He was extremely thin when he came to Best Friends, because hes gotten to an age that, because of dental issues, he can no longer live on hay. Sid was born in approximately 1990 and, like a lot of older horses, needs to eat a mush diet of soaked hay pellets. As soon as he started his new eating program, he began to pick up and now hes a perfect weight and living with a herd of other horses who all eat the same diet. Sid has been a great addition to the group because hes fun and playful and we love to see him out there running around and getting along so well with his new friends. Other than his teeth, he is in great shape for his age and doesnt require any medication or special shoeing. He is, as we say around here, just pretty darn fantastic!
