There are quite a few famous Perrys out there. There’s Katy Perry, Perry Mason, Matthew Perry, Perry the Platypus. But let me introduce you to your new favorite Perry. Perry means “traveller” in Latin which is fitting for this tiny, fuzzy pup who was found wandering down the road, starving and a little underweight. He was so happy to have a place to land with plenty of food and treats, he didn’t even put up a fight when it came to crate training. He took right to puppy pads and figured out subtle cues like his foster mom getting ready for bed as a signal to get in the crate. He is a master at enrichment games, has learned sit, down, and shake and is working on stay and leave it. He will quickly solve puzzles and has a strong focus even though he’s only around four months old. His ideal home would be with someone who is okay having a pup who is a little more independent and might not want to lay on you 24/7. Laying near you while you’re doing chores or work is more his speed. Because he is a quick learner and needs mental stimulation, the perfect adopter will be willing to continue working with him so that he can live his best life. This will also keep him from finding his own entertainment and learning new “tricks.” We don’t know exactly what type of dog Perry is but we think there could be some retriever in there along with some pittie. He is estimated to be about four months old and weighs around 16 pounds. He will likely be a medium to large sized dog. Apply today at Mispitsandfriends.org
