Boo came to us after someone noticed him running stray in the area. When they first saw him, he was okay, but then they noticed he wasn’t using his back legs. Poor Boo had been hit by a car and left to die. But Boo is a survivor! Every day he was fighting for his life, but things were becoming more desperate as he was struggling to find food and had become very emaciated. Despite literally walking on his two front limbs when we first met him, Boo was still moving too fast to be caught and would not come to anyone. When Boo found our trap and smelled the good food inside, thankfully he went right in.

Sadly, this wasn’t the end of his struggle, not by a long shot. We saw immediately what a sweet, shy boy Boo was but feared how bad his injuries were. The local veterinarian came in on the weekend to examine Boo but, unfortunately, said his only options were euthanasia or he would need to see orthopedic specialists to further evaluate whether he was a surgical candidate. Both of Boo’s back legs were broken and both hips were luxated.

Boo had already demonstrated such a strong will to survive that it was hard to think about not giving him a chance. So we took Boo to OSU to have him evaluated and were able to give him the chance he so much deserved.

With the help of a most wonderful foster who has seen him through his medical rehabilitation, Boo has now made great strides toward his recovery and is now ready for adoption or a long-term foster until he finds his forever family.

Boo’s foster tells us he is the BEST boy (we knew that), who just loves the chance to be a lapdog and cuddle with his people. He will follow you around the house and loves to be outside but also likes for you to watch to make sure he’s safe while out there (can you blame him?). He will also go lay down in his crate when asked! Boo is house-trained, walks well on a leash, and does well with other dogs.

Now that Boo is healed from his surgery, he will be scheduled for his neuter.

Boo is available for adoption in Ohio to residents of Ohio. If you are interested in adopting or long-term fostering Boo, please complete the online application here (copy and paste into your browser):

FindpetTM is a Participating Pet Recovery Service Registry for the AAHA Universal Pet Microchip Lookup Tool. AAHA provides an internet-based application that enables veterinarians, humane organizations, pet owners or other persons to search various Pet Recovery Service registries and identify those registries on which a particular microchip is registered. AAHA is not affiliated or involved with any specific microchip registry and has no relationship, financial or otherwise, with this Participating Pet Recovery Service Registry ("Registry"). This Registry has given AAHA permission to search the Registry's database in order to assist pet owners in being reunited with their pets. AAHA does not maintain a database of microchips of its own. It only links to registries such as this one. The AAHA Universal Microchip Lookup Tool only searches the databases of companies that elect to participate in the program.
