Meet this handsome fella named Leo! He originally came into the shelter September 4, 2020 when his family was moving and they could not take him along with them. Was adopted and back because he didn’t do well in the home with the child & played rough with the cat. They felt he was best to go to a home without children & cats. He then was adopted and now back as of September 13, 2022 when he killed some chickens and the owner could no longer keep him as a result. So he needs a home without chickens, small kids, and cats. He really misses his family and home life setting & hopes his FOREVER person or family comes soon to adopt him. He is 8 years old, current on shots, house broken, neutered, and “original owner” most all other dogs. He was free roaming in the house (not a chewer) and loves laying on his dog bed. He also loves to play with toys yet may be a little possessive with them and not want to share. (All from original owner from when he was initially brought in.) Leo gets scared when vacuum is running. At night he likes to sleep on a dog bed in his owners room. He likes spending time outside & needs some of exercise but also being inside with his family when wanting to lounge around. This charming fella is super smart and will make someone or a family a fabulous pup if given a fair chance. Might you have the most Amazing FOREVER home for Leo?! If you have another dog and are interested in meeting another potential new furry member please bring him or her to the shelter and meet on neutral ground before adopting. No need to shuffle the animals around any more than necessary. Please know that 1 mosquito bite can create heart worms and they can be fatal if not treated. It is VERY important to keep your pets healthy and protected by keeping them on a once a month heart worm and flea/tick prevention. These animals are counting on you as their owner to provide them with lots a love and the proper health care so PLEASE make sure you are aware and prepared before adopting. Owning a pet is an extra expense and responsibility but is so worth every minute and penny you invest in them. They will add lots of joy and unconditional love if given a fair chance. The shelter is open Mon.-Fri. 10-1, 2-5 and Sat. 10-4. Adopt a homeless pet and save a life. If you can not adopt right now come out and volunteer and make a difference in the lives of these animals while they await their FOREVER home.
