From a volunteer: Malarkey is a super friendly dog and loves everyone he meets, including other dogs. He is an active boy and would prefer to be a field archaeology dog rather than an archaeology dog stuck in the office all day. So, he loved going on walks and is pretty good on a leash. He does however, weave in front of you occasionally and likes to stop and smell the flowers. Malarkey is a marker and knows what to do outside. He did have an accident in the office, marking my field equipment bag. I think it was more to do with marking his new territory (smelling other dog visitors) rather than out of needing to go. This can be easily corrected through consistent walks around the neighborhood and not leaving him in a backyard all the time. Malarkey definitely doesnt like to be trapped behind the office gate when he sees staff moving around. He wants to play. Boy, does he loves to play with anyone who is up to the challenge, especially with a ball. He will entertain himself with the ball too. He is a curious boy and likes to explore. Loves his belly to be rubbed! An added plus, he is treat motivated. Someone has taught him the basic commands of sit and shake for treats. Malarkey overall is a wonder, handsome dog!
