Newton is a middle-child puppy - he plays hard and well with both his smaller and larger siblings as well as his foster families dogs. Hes not shy - when hes ready to play, he will start the puppy rumble party. Newton is a cuddle-monster and will seek you out to be held with a big grin on his face. He is first to greet you in the morning and demand to be picked up and greeted. Newton is willing to trust you (the first to tackle stairs at his foster home to please you and get close to you) and he is happy to explore the yard with his siblings or on his own. And hes a natural guard dog - the first to sound the alarm when something is out of the ordinary or approaching. But quiets down when you tell him youve got it handled. Newton has gorgeous markings - spotted white paws and a shiny black coat - and beautiful gray eyes (not sure if they came from his Shepherd mama or his Staffie daddy, our best guess as to his lineage). Hes excelling at his training - knows "sit", "down", and the meaning of "no", and he has a solid distance recall. He is 12 weeks old and about 18 pounds and more than ready to find his family so he can start living his best Newton life. The adoption fee for this dog is $375, which helps with the cost of routine vet care. A $250 spay/neuter deposit is required at time of adoption. This fee covers spay/neuter at one of PetConnects preferred veterinary partners. If the adopter chooses to use their own veterinarian, the deposit will be returned with proof of sterilization. **No extensions or exceptions will be made to the required spay/neuter date Puppies require an adopter who is home a good part of the day to continue their training - no exceptions! They are up-to-date on age appropriate vaccines and preventatives and will need to be spayed/neutered at the age of 6 months. Please note, this pups immune system will not be fully functioning until about 16 weeks of age and therefore, s/he is not suited for Apartment/Condo living or Town homes without a private fenced yard and will not be able to go to public places where s/he could possibly be exposed to the germs of unvaccinated dogs, such as PetSmart/PetCo and dog parks until s/he is 16 weeks old For more information, please email msmith@petconnectrescue.org **If youre viewing this on Petfinder, please visit www.petconnectrescue.org to complete our non-binding application.**
