seeking his Bert! ERNIE NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!! Come meet ERNIE and other great adoptable dogs this Sunday (October 9th) from 12-3 pm at the PetSmart in Kensington (5154 Nicholson Ln, Kensington, MD 20895)! Name: Ernie Best Guess for Breed: Shepherd & Great Pyrenees mix Best Guess for Age: 9 months as of June 2022 SEX: Male Approximate Weight: 43 lbs as of July 2022 (he still has a bit more to grow) Gets Along With: Other dogs and kids! The shelter staff tested Ernie with some of the cats at the shelter, and he did not seem particularly interested in chasing or pouncing on the cat. While this is a positive sign that Ernie could live with a cat, he has not done so to our knowledge. If you have cats in your home, we are happy to discuss with you how to best introduce a new pup to your pack! Special adoption considerations: Ernie needs to go to a home with a second dog so he can work on his confidence and show off his true personality. Ernie also has to go to a home without children under 12, however he may be able to live dog savvy kids. Currently Living at: DC area foster home. Ernie is Looking For: Ernie has decided to strike out on his own - Sesame Street has been a wonderful place but now hes eager to get his very own humans. Hes eager to be a well-loved dog who gets to go on long sniffy walks and romps in the park and all those amazing adventures - hes got all that young-dog energy! Trying out all the toys sounds good - balls for fetch? Ropes for tug? Squeaky plush toys to de-plush? Yes, please, lets try them all! Hed love to go to obedience school as well, to show how fast he learns to be the goodest boy. In exchange he promises loyal companionship and adoring gazes for all his days. Does that sound like a fair trade to you? What My Foster Says About Me: Ernie was very shy at first, but has really started to come out of his shell and follows us around the house. He is a big boy, but very sweet and gentle, loves to play with our dog and get hugs and pets from our young kids (both under 10). He is great in the house and is learning to walk on a leash (he doesnt pull, it is just that everything is so new and exciting!). Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken. All of our dogs are working on their crate training. TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $400, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online at bit.ly/adoptaluckydog.
