#### Arlo is a Shiba Inu/Corgi mix. He is just a puppy at eight months old and weighs 19 pounds. Arlo is a little nervous, and he is still afraid to be touched and picked up. He does love to play with his canine friends and if there is a pool to play in, he will splash and put his face in the water. Arlo is starting to approach his human friends to investigate, sniff them, and take treats from their hands. Arlo needs a family who will be patient and let him learn at his own pace. He will also need a more confident dog to help him learn the life of a dog. A four-foot secure fence is a must to keep him safe as he learns, and he needs a home with no children under the age of 16. Arlo is a great looking dog with lots of potential. If you would like to Arlo, please submit an application at https://nmdr.org/our-dogs/adopt/ - - - - - - Prior to being rescued, many of our dogs have experienced minimal socialization. As a result, there is often an adjustment period when learning about life as a family pet. We typically do not adopt to homes with young children. Homes with older children will be considered on an individual basis. Common skills such as house training and leash walking will often take a little extra time. Patience, understanding and a gentle hand are a must. Many of our dogs will need fenced yards and a confident dog in the family. The great news is, most of these dogs come around rather quickly and being a part of their rehabilitation is an extremely rewarding experience.
