In shelter Dog

Bradenton, FL, 34208
Pet name:
Shih Tzu
Coat length:
Max (aka Bola) has the cutest pair of eyes. He is 8 yrs old and was surrendered by his elderly mom because she couldnt take care of him anymore. He came to foster care very obese, but is gradually getting back to normal weight. He is very sweet and house trained, but needs a regular schedule for his food and for potty time. He eats regular dry food and takes his medication hidden in a bit of wet food. He walks well on a leash, but due to his weight and a heart condition, frequent short walks are preferred. The ideal home for him would provide no less than four walks a day. Alternatively, he could do well in a home with a backyard, so he could walk all he wants and rest when he wants. At the moment he lives with three other dogs and he gets along with all of them. His foster mom improvised a soft bed for him on the floor in her bedroom. Max would love to sleep on a real human bed. Now for the bad news: Max will destroy shoes if you leave them lying around. His foster mom had been trying for years to get her husband to keep his shoes inside the closet. He does now. Max will also attack toilet paper rolls and paper napkins if he has access to them. This dog is delightful and super cute. His foster mom nicknamed him Bola (ball in Portuguese) because thats what he looked like whe she first got him.
