I cant stop giggling over his short, stocky legs and big silly feet. Like many creatures on the larger end of their species/breed, Frankie is gentle and laid back. My cranky old lady cats, who are highly suspicious of all my fosters, gave him a cursory sniff and dismissed him as irrelevant. Natasha, the Queen of the House (who is half his size), has even trained him to drop to his belly and avert his eyes from her magnificence as she walks by. She graciously allows him to eat next to her and he knows perfectly well whose food is whose. No idea how she did that.Before he came into rescue he was staying with an assortment of other cats and dogs with no issues. He had one other big kitty he chummed around with; theyd hang out together on top of the kitchen cabinets. Maybe in solidarity over all the dogs. I think Frankie would be happiest with another easy going kitty friend in the home.Frankie is a talker! Not loud, but lots. Most of his verbalizations are series of high-pitched, squeaky chirps with varying emphasis, but hell meow if he feels strongly about something. Oddly, when Id play a recording of him talking, hed talk back to it and have an entire conversation with himself. I stopped doing it because I think it hurt his feelings when I fell on the floor laughing.He loves his nums, and every meal is an an event. He chirps with excitement when he sees his bowl! He eats 2/3 of his first course (wet), washes his face and gives me a thank-you head boomp. Second course is dry, eats on that for a bit, then switches back and forth between wet and dry and more grooming and lovey breaks. When hes done hell lay on my feet and court some belly rubs, sighing blissfully while he ruminates on what a lovely supper he just had. Lately hes been lifting his left paw to point at treats in my hand, so I think he could be easily trained to High-Five.Frankie is new to toys. He loves his catnip banana and will stop a ball with his paw when I roll it to him. He is baffled by the featherstick. Hes swatted it a couple of times and then retreated to think about what happened..well see. He does enjoy the cardboard scratcher on the rolly ball track and watches intently when I roll the ball, and he is amenable to having toys stacked on him. (Handy if youre short on storage or are up for that how many toys can I stack on my cat challenge.)No behavioral issues that Ive seen. Uses his litter box, doesnt scratch the furniture, gentle with his claws. Gets all heart-melty when he watches his favorite video of sleepy, purring kittens. He understands the word No and politely abides by it, and also says it! Its like an UUnnnh! chirp that means Not play now, having nap, or No medicine my eyes! and also Jeez! No sneak-up me like that!If Frankie was human, hed be that peaceful, soft-spoken, good-natured guy in the Firefly t-shirt who works at the comic book store. A little shy but open to liking everyone. Itll take a minute for him to trust you, but once youre in, hell enthusiastically tell you the history and value of all his action figures, give you a detailed and informed opinion on who was the best Batman, and will Totally help you fix your phone.
