MAYBE A HOME OF MY OWN WOULDN’T BE SO BAD AFTER ALL! THE BASICS: SIAMESE, seal point ADULT MALE; EST. DOB: 2019 ARRIVAL: May 25, 2021 HISTORY: Xavier was a stray who was surrendered to us when the people who fed him had to move away. MEDICAL NOTE: Xavier tested positive for FIV. Xavier has had quite the behavioral journey during his time at CFC! When he arrived, Xavier was hissy and scratchy. He didn’t want anyone to touch him. The couple who surrendered him encouraged usthat he was a sweet, loving boy, but we had yet to see any sign of the cat they described. Slowly, though, Xavier started to let his walls down. He gradually grew more comfortable roaming the room, and would descend from his perch on the cat condo rather than staying out of reach. He even started to let people pet him! At this point, the Xavier of today is a totally different cat from when he arrived. He’s on the floor regularly and doesn’t even bat an eye when people pet him. He’ll even play with string toys when the mood strikes him. He’s still a little nervous about new things and awkward around other cats, but he’s slowly figuring out how to interact with them. Apparently another stray was mean to him in his old neighborhood :(. This boy is definitely still a work in progress, but if placed with the right cat-savvy people we think his confidence will continue to bloom. Meet him today!
