Introducing Mookie, a huskys husky! Gorgeous Mookie is one smart boy and takes his training seriously (like all good huskies should!). He is eager to please and listens to his handler. During his many months at the shelter, he quickly learned basic commands (sit, stay, paw) and is now working on more advanced commands like jump (over the obstacle course hurdles), ramp (up and down the obstacle course ramp), and heel (next to his handler, sometimes without a leash if the handler uses hand signs!). This athletic boy has lots of energy, and when hes not working the obstacle course, he loves running, chasing toys, and swimming in the shelter kiddie pool.  Besides athletic training, Mookie is working on his manners; repetition and treats are helping him to make good progress.  

Despite spending lots of time in his shelter kennel, Mookie tries to stay calm while kenneled. He can be very affectionate and is happy to hug and cuddle with humans he knows when he is out of his kennel. He would love to go to a home with experienced owners who able to provide him with lots of exercise and with mental stimulation (games, puzzles) to be the best boy that he can be.  

You can meet Mookie at the San Diego County Animal Shelter, 2481 Palomar Airport Road, Carlsbad, CA 92011. The shelter is open to view animals from 1-4 pm Tuesdays – Fridays, and 10 am-4 pm Saturdays and Sundays, and by appointment by calling 619- 767-2675.
