PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE BIO ON THIS DOG BEFORE REQUESTING AN APPLICATION. MANY OF OUR DOGS HAVE STRICT REQUIREMENTS FOR THEIR ADOPTION. 1. Would do best with another dog buddy. 8-10-year-old male Terrier mix, about 15 pounds. Braveheart was an owner surrender after another dog in the home attacked him. He was injured pretty badly but luckily, all superficially. He spent a few days in the hospital after he underwent surgery to fix his wounds and infection. Fast forward several months later, Brave is healed and doing great. His hair has almost all grown back in, and his wounds are a thing of the past. Braveheart is a very sweet and chill boy! He loves to be with his people and will follow you around all day. He is not a big cuddler, so he needs someone who has time to spend with him and teach him that love, couch cuddles and bedtime snuggles are awesome! He is used to being in a home with multiple dogs, so he has not learned to be all alone. Another dog in the home will help as he can be perfectly content crated while you are gone with a friend. He will trend towards separation anxiety if he is the only dog and if you are a bit of a push over. While he can be whiney, he is not a big barker. He can sleep in his crate at night but would prefer to be out curled up on a nice dog bed or blanket. He is good about going outside to potty. He is a great eater, which has helped put weight on him, as he came to us very thin. He is good on a leash and likes to go for walks. He does well with children and equally good with men and women. He gets along fine with dogs of all sizes. Not tested with cats. Adoption contract and fee applies. All adoptable dogs can be met at adoption events hosted every weekend. For a list of scheduled events go to: https://www.facebook.com/SmidgetRescue/events . Smidget Rescue is not a shelter, and dogs cannot be seen at the Rescue location. All dogs are fostered throughout the Puget Sound area and are brought to the events where they can be met by prospective adopters. Additional pictures of adoptable dogs can be seen at: https://www.facebook.com/SmidgetRescue/photos_stream?tab=photos_albums. All adoptable dogs are spayed or neutered at 6 months of age or older. Puppies are adopted with a refundable spay/neuter deposit (in addition to the adoption fee) and adopters are required to get their puppy to our vet for their pre-scheduled spay-neuter appointments. APPLICATIONS CAN BE OBTAINED BY EMAIL ONLY. Adoption process includes application, meet & greet, home visit and reference check. Email Jamie at smidgetrescue@hotmail.com or click on the CONTACT link on this page. PLEASE DOUBLE CHECK YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS BEFORE SENDING. We get a fair number of incorrect emails and Jamie is not able to contact potential adopters. Notice: We do not ship dogs out of state. You must live within a three-hour radius of Seattle, WA, (such as Portland, Vancouver B.C., etc.), so we can arrange for a home visit. If your home seems like a great fit for the dog you would like to adopt, you must then drive to meet the dog at one of our weekend events or at the fosters home.
