Say hello to Mr. Barney! 

Barney is an adorable guy who is approximately 1 to 1.5 years old and weighs 22 pounds. With that long body and stout stature, we aren’t really sure of his breed but we do know he is 100% cute! 

Barney was owner surrendered with his mom to a high kill shelter near the border of Mexico. His previous owners were an elderly couple who could no longer care for them. When Barney first arrived at our rescue, he was very scared. He needed a solid 48 hours to himself to decompress and get adjusted to his new surroundings. Now that he is settled in and learning the ropes, he is doing very well and is a friendly, happy guy. He will need a home that is patient and understanding to give him the time he needs to adjust. 

Barney is crate trained here at the rescue for his males and for sleeping. He gets along very well with the other dogs in his group. Since Barney gets very nervous and unsure in new situations, we feel he would do best in a home without small children. He would also do well in a home where he has another dog to play with. 

Barney is located at our rescue in Hondo, TX and is available for adoption and transport to Leesburg, VA on Oct. 8th. He is neutered, up to date on all shots, microchipped and his adoption fee is $400. The fee includes transport costs.
