Made for the fun rides!

Hey guys! I am Diesel, 1 year old, neutered male Boxer mix, weighing about 65 lbs. I was rescued by TAP as a relinquished dog who lived outside the house for a year, and with my mama. I am so lucky to have vroom-ed my way into an amazing foster home and have made sure to pick up all good bathroom habits, I can use the doggie door too. I am good on the leash too, and a lil bit of pulling that positive reinforcement will definitely fix. Training is super fun for me, because yummy treats!

So, I have so much love in my heart, that my ticker went all whoa! Turns out, its an inherited heart defect called, Canine Severe aortic stenosis. I need a beta blocker to help with the management of the heart condition, and will need to be it on for life. The medications estimated cost is ~$13.00 per month, depending on market value. I will need regular Cardiologist evaluation of my heart, and to monitor the medication efficacy.

I have been a total good boy and I am super friendly with everyone! I trust quickly and am very loyal. I get along pretty fabulously with other dogs and give a great mileage during playtimes. I have met some kids at my previous foster home and I was good. I do get anxiety when I go to a new place, like a new home or the vet, so just some patience and a minute to relax would be good! I am moderately energetic and will play with my foster dog sibling for about an hour, and then relax.

I think that I would do great in a home with another dog, but I also think that I will be okay alone. I would probably do better in an active household, but with the amount of love for naps that I have, I will be happy in a mellow home that makes time for playtime and activity sessions along with walks too. If you think I will revv up your life with a ton of goodness, lets meet up! My adoption fee is $200 and that includes spaying/neutering, shots, and microchip. If you want to take me home, please fill out the form on the website here: https://theanimalpad.org/adoption-application/
