Description:
Meet smiling Sage, a very happy gal! Sage is a 1 year old Aussiedoodle (Australian Shepherd X Poodle Mix) and she weighs about 40 lbs. Sage came to us as an owner surrender due to her family moving and being unable to take her with them. She had primarily been an outside dog and was severely matted when she came into RR care. After a good shave down and treating her double ear infections, Sage felt so much better! She gets along well with most other dogs; she is a loud gal when she gets in a playful mood and is very vocal towards the other dogs (she has a big bark, but is not aggressive at all, just loud)! Sage has been introduced to 2 of our resident rescue cats and showed a bit too much curiosity towards them, so we believe she would do best in a home without cats or small friends that could be mistaken for a toy or prey (like rabbits, guinea pigs, etc). Sage absolutely adores children and plays well with our junior rescuer Adam (he is 6 years old), however she has jumped on him a few times and could accidentally knock down a younger child in her excitement. Sage rides well in the car, is pretty much* potty trained, and is learning how to walk on leash without pulling. If you are looking for an affectionate, playful, and loving lady; consider meeting smiling Sage!

*Even the most house broken dog is prone to having accidents while adjusting to a new environment and schedule. Sage will need to be worked with by a patient owner to help ensure that she thrives with her adoptive family.

**You may notice that Sages adoption fee is higher than most of our other dogs available for adoption. We have raised her adoption fee due to Sages breed and the level of care she needed when arriving in rescue care to get her healthy. Her increased fee will help cover the cost of her medical expenses and go back into rescue funds to help support the rest of the dogs and cats in our care.

***Sage is being spayed on Tuesday November 21st and will need to recuperate with us for a few days after her surgery. Because of the upcoming holiday, Sage will be available for meet-n-greets and adoption after Saturday November 25th. There will be no exceptions to this, as we want to ensure that she recovers well from her spay.
